No Stripe, No PayPal: How Pakistani Businesses Accept International Payments
Neither Stripe nor PayPal serves businesses in Pakistan. Here's how Pakistani software houses, agencies and online sellers take card and crypto payments from foreign clients.
Pakistan's IT exports — software houses, agencies, freelancers turned studios — are among the fastest-growing in the region. Yet the two payment brands every foreign client knows, Stripe and PayPal, don't serve businesses based in Pakistan.
Common workarounds and their costs
- Bank wire / remittance channels — workable for large B2B invoices, slow and fee-heavy for smaller amounts.
- Payoneer and similar — popular, with account reviews and fees.
- Foreign company formation — opens Stripe, but costs money and adds compliance overhead.
A simpler checkout for foreign clients
With card-to-crypto checkout, your client in the US, UK or Gulf pays by card through a provider licensed in their country. The payment is converted and delivered as USDC to your wallet. Clients who already hold stablecoins can pay directly in USDT or USDC.
For agencies, recurring invoices (Pro) let you bill retainer clients monthly with automatic reminder emails.
Testing from Pakistan
Card providers are chosen by the payer's location. Card coverage for payers inside Pakistan is thin, so a test card payment made from Pakistan — or with a card issued there — often fails, even though customers in the US, UK or EU are offered a much wider set of providers. For a realistic test, use a card and location from the country your customers are in. Vulta's dashboard shows this note automatically when you're testing from a limited-coverage country.
Getting started
- Create a free Vulta account — email only, no company documents.
- Add a USDC (Polygon) wallet for card payments, plus any crypto wallets you want (USDT on TRON is popular and cheap).
- Create a payment link: Card only for mainstream buyers, Card + Crypto for everyone.
- For retainers, set up recurring invoices on Pro so clients get a payment email every month.
Vulta takes 0% of payments; plans are Free, Pro ($20/month) and Max ($49/month). Always check how your local rules treat income received in digital assets and declare it for tax as required.
Frequently asked questions
Can clients in the US pay me by card through Vulta?
Yes. US payers are offered providers such as Stripe, PayPal, Coinbase and Robinhood, and you receive USDC.
Is USDT or USDC better for receiving payments?
Both keep dollar value. USDT on TRON is popular for low fees; card payments arrive as USDC on Polygon.
Can I add my company name to the checkout?
Yes. Pro lets you add your logo and colors; Max removes Vulta branding and supports your own domain.
What should I tell clients about ID checks?
Mention that the card provider may ask for a quick verification on the first payment. It takes a minute and only happens on the provider's page.
