How to Accept Payments for a Discord Community, Server or Paid Role
Running a paid Discord community, coaching group or signal server? Here's how to take card and crypto payments with payment links and recurring invoices, without a platform taking a cut.
Discord communities sell access: paid roles, private channels, coaching, courses and memberships. Platforms that bolt payments onto Discord usually take a percentage of every sale and depend on card processors that may not serve you.
The simple setup
- Create a payment link for your membership price — card, crypto or both.
- Pin it in a #join channel or send it in DMs.
- When someone pays, you're notified (email on Pro, webhook on Max) and assign the role.
Monthly memberships
Use recurring invoices (Pro): each member gets an email with a payment link every month and reminders if they haven't paid. When a member doesn't renew, remove the role.
Automating roles
On Max, a webhook fires the moment a payment confirms. A small bot can listen for it and assign the role automatically. To know who paid, create one link per member (for example, titled with their Discord name), or on Business create payment requests through the API with the member's Discord ID as the external reference.
Card or crypto?
Many Discord audiences already hold USDT or USDC. Offer both: crypto users pay directly; everyone else pays by card through a licensed provider in their country, and you receive USDC.
What it costs
Vulta takes 0% of payments. Plans are flat: Free, Pro ($20) and Max ($49).
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Discord bot for Vulta?
There's no official Discord bot; a simple bot can listen to Vulta webhooks (Max) and assign roles automatically.
Can members pay yearly?
Yes — create a separate link with the yearly price, or set a yearly recurring invoice.
What if someone shares the payment link?
Sharing a payment link only lets others pay; it doesn't grant access. You grant roles after confirming payment.
Can I sell to members in many countries?
Yes. Card providers are offered by the payer's country, and crypto works everywhere.
