How to Set Up a Wallet to Receive Business Payments in USDC and USDT

Before you accept crypto or card-to-crypto payments, you need the right receiving addresses. Here's how to choose between a self-custody wallet and an exchange address, and set up each network correctly.

Every payment you accept through Vulta goes to an address you provide. Getting this right once saves you from the most common problem merchants hit: funds arriving on a network their wallet doesn't show.

Self-custody wallet or exchange address?

Self-custody wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet, Phantom, TronLink):

  • You hold the keys — nobody can freeze your funds.
  • You are responsible for your recovery phrase. Lose it and the funds are gone.

Exchange deposit address:

  • Easy to convert to local currency.
  • The exchange holds your funds and can restrict your account.
  • Make sure the exchange credits deposits on the exact network you add.

Many businesses use both: card payments to a self-custody wallet, then move to an exchange when they need cash.

Which addresses to add

Payment typeAddress to add
Card paymentsUSDC on Polygon (an EVM address, starts with 0x)
USDT from regional buyersUSDT on TRON (starts with T)
USDC from crypto usersUSDC on Polygon, Solana, Base or Arbitrum
BitcoinA BTC address (bc1…)

One EVM address (0x…) works on Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum and BSC. Some card providers settle USDC on Ethereum or POL on Polygon to that same address, so pick a wallet or exchange that shows those networks.

Step by step on Vulta

  1. Open Wallets in your dashboard.
  2. Pick the network and asset, paste the address and give it a label.
  3. Repeat for each network you want to offer.
  4. On your payment links, the saved wallets become the payment routes your customers see.

Security basics

  • Write your recovery phrase on paper and store it offline.
  • Use a hardware wallet for larger balances.
  • Never share your recovery phrase — Vulta will never ask for it.

Add your first wallet — it takes a minute.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same 0x address for several networks?

Yes. An EVM address is the same on Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum and BSC. If you use an exchange address, check the exchange supports each network.

Does Vulta ever need my private key?

Never. Vulta only needs your public receiving address. Anyone asking for your recovery phrase is trying to steal your funds.

What happens if I remove a wallet?

New payments stop using it. Payments already sent to it stay there — it's your address.

Can I receive to a hardware wallet?

Yes. Add the receiving address from your hardware wallet like any other address.
