Vulta vs CoinPayments: An Honest Comparison for Merchants (2026)
CoinPayments charges 0.5% on payments and holds funds in custodial wallets. Vulta charges 0%, never holds funds and adds card payments. Here's the full comparison.
CoinPayments is one of the oldest crypto payment processors, with support for a very long list of coins. Vulta is newer and narrower — but built around two ideas CoinPayments doesn't share: no fees on payments and no custody.

Fees
CoinPayments takes 0.5% of incoming payments. It's a small number, but it applies to every sale forever. Vulta's plans are flat: Free, Pro ($20) and Max ($49), each with a monthly processed-volume allowance, and Business for larger merchants.
Custody
Funds received through CoinPayments sit in CoinPayments wallets until you withdraw or auto-forward them. With Vulta the payment goes directly to the address you set — there is no intermediate wallet at all.
Coin coverage vs. focus
If you need to accept dozens of altcoins, CoinPayments covers more. Most real-world payments, though, are stablecoins: USDT on TRON, USDC on Polygon or Solana, and BTC. Vulta covers those on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, BSC, Solana and TRON, and adds card payments for customers who don't hold crypto at all.
Which one?
- CoinPayments if you need a very wide coin list and are fine with custodial wallets.
- Vulta if you want 0% fees, direct settlement and card checkout.

Frequently asked questions
Does CoinPayments hold my funds?
CoinPayments uses custodial wallets: received funds sit with CoinPayments until you withdraw or auto-forward them. Vulta sends each payment directly to your address.
Why does Vulta support fewer coins?
Most real payments are in stablecoins and BTC. Vulta focuses on USDT and USDC on the main networks, native coins on eight chains and card payments, which covers the vast majority of buyers.
Can I use an exchange deposit address with Vulta?
Yes, as long as the exchange supports the exact asset and network. Double-check the network — for example, USDC deposits on Polygon must go to an address that accepts Polygon USDC.
Do I pay anything if I don't sell?
On the free plan, nothing. Paid plans are flat monthly fees regardless of sales.
