Compliance overview
Vulta is infrastructure, not a financial institution. Here is a clear explanation of what we do and don't do, and what that means for you.
Important: This page is an informational overview, not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction for advice specific to your situation.
Non-custodial infrastructure
Vulta is a non-custodial software provider, not a financial institution, money transmitter, payment processor, or exchange. We provide software tools — payment links, embedded checkouts, on-chain detection, and webhook delivery.
At no point do we hold, control, transmit, or custody any funds on behalf of merchants or their clients. Every payment settles directly to the merchant's self-custodied wallet address, on-chain, without passing through Vulta-controlled accounts.
Fiat on-ramp compliance
Card and bank payment processing is provided exclusively by regulated third-party on-ramp partners. Those partners are independently licensed, conduct all required payer-side KYC/AML verification, and are solely responsible for fiat-to-crypto conversion.
Vulta does not originate, process, settle, or intermediate fiat payments. We only embed the on-ramp partner's widget and receive a webhook notification when a crypto settlement has been initiated.
Merchant responsibility
Because Vulta does not hold or transmit funds, we do not require KYC documentation from merchants. However, merchants are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of Vulta complies with the laws and regulations of their local jurisdiction.
This includes, but is not limited to: income tax reporting on digital asset receipts, VAT/GST obligations, compliance with any local licensing requirements for accepting crypto payments commercially, and applicable AML obligations in their jurisdiction.
Prohibited use cases
Vulta may not be used for activities that are illegal in the merchant's jurisdiction, for sanctioned entities or individuals (as defined by OFAC, EU, UN, and other relevant bodies), for money laundering, terrorism financing, or any activity that violates applicable law.
We reserve the right to terminate service to any merchant at any time, for any reason, including suspected misuse. Because we are non-custodial, termination does not affect access to funds already settled to the merchant's wallet.
